Hey guys I just wanted to let you know about some up coming index changes, and give you a chance to include your feed back as well. There are going to be minor changes to the latest 10 topics, and the chat box at the bottom as well as minimizing some of the scrolling needed to view the entire page.
Generally on the index page as I'm sure you have noticed that there are so many forums it's very unuser friendly to scroll through the whole page. We are going to start organizing it better to minimize this and make it more user friendly.
Top 10 Topics
I noticed that many members just look at the index page, and are missing out on all the discussions when they only look at the latest 10. We are going to remove this very soon from the index page and instead replace it with a What's new or today's posts button. This will show you all the active topics for the current day which you can also do by clicking active topics. So every day and every hour even you will see fresh content. I understand the "Active Topics" link is very hard to see that link and that's my fault.
Chat Box at Bottom
This is a great feature but not completely used the way I intended. I've noticed lately members post for sale ads, or new members that are getting used to the forum post questions instead of making a new topic. Sometimes great answers are posted before their message clears and we loose out on good tech info. For the change this will be removed, and instead replaced with a more defined "enter chat button" and also a list of all the current users in chat at the moment. I'm also hoping that will fix the issue of not being able to tell who is currently in chat.
