Yeah, your oil will look milky or muddy, but it can also leak out through your exhaust, not just your oil. It can travel either to just your oil, or just your exhaust, or both. If it was going into your oil, you'd know it - "milky oil". If it goes out the exhaust you may never notice it other than maybe the smell of radiator fluid after driving, or the water constantly being low in the radiator, basicly after its too late. Which sounds like might be the case with your motor. If the head gasket blew and started leaking water out the exhaust, water got low in the radiator, maybe low enough not to pump good enough or at all through the system, over heated, and very possibly cracked the head, now every time you crank it you just hear it gurgle and boiling..... What year is your truck and what size motor?

91 gmc jimmy. 4.3l v6 i think you might be right cause i found out the reason the whole thing started was because my radiator drain plug was loose/leaking so it must have run low and overheated pretty bad. so what do i do or am i screwwed now?

Well, if you've tried refilling it with water, and the problem just seems to be worse when full with water, then yeah, you're pretty much just stuck with having to dig in it alittle more to fix the problem, but none the less, look at the bright side man, atleast it didn't get into the oil!! You'd be floating down a whole other shit creek if it had lol. From here, just remove the top end from the motor (i.e.- valve covers, intake manifold ) anything that needs to be removed to pull the heads off. Now remove the heads. If you get the heads off without majorly damaging the head gaskets, try to check the gaskets for obvious signs that the gasket is bad, it may help you find exactly which head gasket went bad, if you can't tell, don't worry about it, not that big of a deal. Now with both heads out, check both of them the best you can for any hair line cracks, because it's very possible you could have a cracked head. If you find an obvious crack, you need to replace that head. If you can't find any, I would still suggest taking the heads to a head shop and have them check them for cracks and warpage, they could also/and/or be warped. After that you should definiatly know if you need a new head(s) or not. After that is said and done, go to local auto parts store or the head shop and pick up a gasket kit. The kit should contain most of all your gaskets for the motor, including 2 new head gaskets. After that, put your new gaskets on, heads, top end parts, fill'er back up with water, fix the damn drain plug! lol, and you should be good to go. And, if this is your first time digging into a motor, or it's not a motor your familar with, I would suggest stoppin' by an auto parts store and pickin' up a Chilton's book for your truck. The book will cover every repair and mantiance issue for your truck and motor step by step, with pictures. With that, a friend or two to help, you should have no problems.....

ok, so i cant give up on blazers. i found another one and i think thats what im finally gonna get. another old blazer. sad huh? not really... this one is better than mine in a few ways. it has the solid side glass and low miles. the interior is messed up but i have clean stuff in my old one so i might combine the 2 to make a real nice one.

yeah its a good deal. it has a rebuilt engine and trans, but it was done at a shop and not in some idiots goarage. so im gonna look at it real close and make sure i drive it hard before i get it but i think it should be nice. the dude says it has about 50k on the rebuilt stuff and the only reason he is selling it is cause he got a new car. so now all i gotta do is get some money!
